on "being a good example"

A friend of mine posted this blog article on their Facebook and it initially grabbed my attention because of the title. The content resonated with me as that I am a poster child of the "be a good example" generation. I genuinely believe are parents meant no harm and had the best intentions when they spoke these words over us...but I think there is a lot to be sad pertaining to what the author pointed out about being a "friend" rather than an "example."

Choosing...

While listening to Pandora at work today, an old favorite song of mine came on that I probably listened to several hundred times on repeat during my time in college. The lyrics are just as piercing, comforting and yet convicting today as they were then. Publishing them here as a offering/confession of sorts...

Free tickets to a Marlin's game. We ate some seriously delicious pork and queso nachos.

free weekend stay at Bonaventure...free stuff abounded this weekend. Also, currently reading "the preacher and the presidents" which documents Billy Graham's relationships with each president. Very fascinating.

Cam turned 27 so we threw him a kiddie party at the park. I am glad to report the seesaw did not have any serious damage after this picture was taken.
